The past week has been a busy ope for the stork in this vicinity. Miss Mary Haner of Hiawatha was tne guest o,f Lela Powell over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Nims ot Nuns City were shopping in this city Monday. Earl Carutliers of Tecumseh was in the city- the lattar part of week visiting friends. Mrs. Ira Houtz and Mrs. Joe Parsons of Verdon were in the city the latter part of the week. Mrs. Hal StoufFer of Salem came down Friday to visit her husband and see “Faust” at the Gehling. Mr. and Mrs. Will Ramsey are the proud parents of a baby girl which took up its abode in that happy household Monday. Herman Tubach on Route 5, made a special trip to this city Friday for the purpose of calling on this office and placing his name ahead on our list. T. I*. He says Mis souri is all right, and he is glad now he lives there. Twin boys were born to Mr. atd Mrs. Henry Johnson of near Verdon, on Friday evening of last week. The mother is doing nicely but the father has not yet recovered from the shock. George Hessler and wife left last week for Cashion, Okla., where they have purchased a nice farm and expect to make it their home. Realizing how hard it is to beat old Richardson coun ty, they would not give up their home in this city, but have kept it in reserve to be in readiness for them to come back to when they got homesick. H. -Keeling and son William and Miss Fannie Miller returned the first of the week from a few days spent with friends in Omaha. H. E- Boyd of Humboldt was among the delegates from the west end who attended the Sun day school convention in this city Thursday. Mrs. Wright and daughter Helen,of Tecumseh spent a few days during the past week with Miss Mamie Gillespie in this city. E. Dowty. manager of the Preston Grain and Lumber Co., was a pleasant caller at this office while in the city Monday. Mrs. E. E. Scott returned Sun day from Salem, where she had been spending several days with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Sigmund Spaeth and son spent a portion of the week with relatives in Columbus. Mrs. W. H. Keeling and Fan nie Miller spent last Thursday with friends in Hiawatha Mrs. W. E. Davis goes to Lin coln tomorrow to visit with her brother. Will Hershey Harry Thomas of Hiawatha spent Sunday in this city with his many friends. A. J. Weaver was a business visitor in Omaha during the week. Hon. Hi Belden of Dawson was in the city Wednesday. The Tribune acknowledges a very pleasant call. Sherdeman of Friend, Neb., representing: the Rock Is land Plow Co., was in the citv Wednesday calling: on his trade and visiting: friends. Prof. J- Carl Leister took ad vantage of the week’s vacation at his business college.and spent the time in Minneapolis, Minn., look ing: after business matters. The B- & M. came to the front last week and deposited with County Treasurer Lord the neat little sum of $17,f>87 33 in pay ment of their taxes in thiscounty. Commodore O’Grady was down from Dawson Wednesday. As we go to press we learn that Dr. Wilson has decided to leave this city. During their residence here the doctor and his wife have made many warm friends who re gret exceedingly to have them leave us. We have not learned where they expect to locate, but wherever it may be the best wishes of their Falls City friends go with them. Mr. Page is now in the real estate business and informs us that among his many recent deals was the sale of the east eighty of the Redwood farm to Charles Wise, for which the sum of $5,000 was paid. Miss Nellie Gilman this week received the official program for the reception of the American fleet at Yokohotna and Tokyo, Japan. It was sent her by Thurs ton McCoy and is a neat piece of work Judging from the pro gram they know’ how to enter tain over there. —The only complete stock of Edison records in town is to be found at Reavis & Abbey’s large furniture store. They have the new 4-minute records and the necessary attachments to make your machine play them. Deputy Sheriff Ren Henderson of Auburn was in the city Satur day. Attorney Isliatn Reavis went to Rushville Wednesday where he has an important legal trial. Ed Daeschner, our blacksmith, has a baby boy at his home, pres ented to him last Thursday. Roy Mastin who has been em ployed at Elm Creek returned home Saturdly T. J.
