Harry Bradford , brakemun and Mr. Calkins are with the passenger train at Atcbison , by way of St. Joe and is now doing passenger an freight work between AtchUon and Sparks , and will continue to do so until the track is re paired between Iowa Point and Sparks. The remains of Mrs Russell were brought to Rule from the West , on the eight o'clock train Tuesday morning , The funeral was held at the Catholic church , Rev Sproll officiating. She was 96 years old and until recently was a resident of Rulo. The body was laid to rest In the Catholic cemetery south west of town. Miss Mary Jones , a former Rule girl , was married to Mr Theodore Foss at Weeping Water , Neb , on Tuesday , June 2nd , Rev H W Cope ofliclating. After an elegant three course breakfast the bride and groom left for Adamsi where they will reside on a farm owned by the groom. Miss Jones was raised In Rule and was a graduate of the Rule school , and taught here a few years ago. Her many friends extend sincere congratulations. The Ludles Aid Society of the Meth odist church gave an entertainment ut the opera house last Saturday night. The program contained fourteen num bers , every one of which was excellent , und well received by nn appreciative audience. The readings by Mrs Lottie Nlchol and Mr Maze were especially good. Of the musical numbers no one can be given particular mention , as each one was so good In its way. Rule certainly has good home talent of which she Is justly proud. The proceeds amounted to ? 22C5 and would have been much larger , had the weather not been so unfavorable. Great credit is due to Mrs J W Cunningham , who arranged the program , and was untiring in her efforts to make it a success.
