THE FALLS Cl I Y TRIBUNE , FRIDAY , JUNE i4 , 1907 Farmers Would Fix the Prfcc One hundred farmers and graii growers Iroin ten different state ! are assembled in Omaha in con vention of a most romnrlrablt and interesting organiztion. Tin organization in its broadens' field is known as the America ! Society of Equity , which ha ; for its ultimate purpose the ab solute control for the farmer ! of the country , of the marltc and price ol all manner of farn products The local convention is beinj held for the purpose of organ ! zing a grain growers' divisioi of this society , through whicl better to facilitate the end ! sought in the larger organiza tion. Delegates present came fron Nebraska , Kansas , Oklahoma South Dakota , North Dakota Indiana , Wisconsin , Iowa , III ! nois and Virginia. Keprescnta lives are expected also fron Missouri , Kentucky , Ohio , Penn. sylvania , New York , Montana , Michigan and other states in which grain is grown to any ex. tent. The members look for a representation of Irom lf > 0 tc 200 by Thursday , when the con. vention will get down to real business. The cause of this organization rests in a belief that the fanner is downtrodden and preyed upon by the moneyed classes ; and lie does not get fair prices lor the things he produces , and that lie can remedy these conditions by organized and intelligent action. It is much akin to the labor or ganizations of the country and is generally spoken of as a farmers' union. The society has been in exist- ance for the past live or six years and has already organized departments of tobacco , fruit and produce , essential oils and peanut growers. After the or ganization of a grain growing department will come departments - ments of dairying , stock raising , cotton raising and every other branch of agricultural industry. SAYS THEY AUK SLAVKS. The feeling which prompted the organization of this society is illustrated in a statement made by W. A. Dungan of Minden - den , Neb. , a member , Wednes day morning : "We are held in slavery as bad as that which kept the black man in the south in bondage - age , " he said.Ve earn the money which 6thers spend. There is no reason why we should bo ground down. II we choose , we can assert ourselves. We can get from you who buy , what we a&k and not what you are willing to pay. " Besides organizing , the grain growers' division , it will be the purpose of this convention to further the campaign , already started , for SI wheat for the 1907 crop. To secure this price it is planned to secure pledges from grain growers representing half the crop in the country that they will not sell until the price has gone up to the desired figure. This means that the big visi ble supply in the county , that which the farmer lias dumped on the market before the time for its immediate consumption has been reached , would be wiped out of existence. Instead the farmers are to hold their crops until their terms are met. In stead ol selling at what is offer ed by grain dealers , they are t ( be asked what they will take. Fanners' elevator organiza tions are asked to join will them in this campaign and thi will be one of the leading mat ters discussed at the convention To facilitate the plan of holdiii ] up the grain supply , thejsociet promises its pledges to furnis storage facilities and to hel them to borrow money on thei crops with which to ride ovc the period of waiting until the : ierms are met. Finally , the organization ahr at ultimately encouraging more direct method of marke jng from producer to consume to aid the farmers to deal direct ly with the big millers and th foreign buyers , to wipe out th profits of the middle man grail dealer entirely. T.hey seek als < to correct alleged abuses ii weighing and grading grain , t secure more lair transportatioi rate and prevent discriminatio : in the allotment of cars. MARION 1 Falls City , Nebraska Nervous n 1 Worn-Out If you are in this condition , your nerve force is weak the power is giving out , the or gans of your body have "slowed up , " and do their work imperfectly. This failure to do the work required , clogs the system and brings distress and disease. When the nerves are weak the heart is unable to force the life-giving blood through your veins ; the stomach ach fails to digest food ; the kidneys lack power to filter impurities from the blood , and the poisonous waste remains in the system to breed disease. Nerve energy must be restored. Dr. Miles' Nervine will do it , because it strengthens the nerves ; it is a nerve medicine and tonic , that rebuilds the entire nervous system. "Several years ago I was all broken down. I was nervous , worn-out , could not Bleep , and was in constant pain. I doctored for months , and finally the doctor said ho could do nothlntr for me. I bepan taking Dr. Allies' Nervine , and used altogether eight bottles , and I became strong and healthy , and now weigh 170 pounds. " II. C. CUNNINGHAM. 10S Ellsworth Ave. , Allegheny , Pa.
