The disease was too deep seated and the change was not beneficial , the two were brought back to llumboldt Fri day In a very critical condition , the child dying the following Sabbath morning , at the homo of Its grand parents , Mr. and Mrs , Joseph Hnothen , on Grand avenue The funeral ser vices wire held Monday afternoon at four o'clock. Llni'enmeyer of Falls City attended the convention last week Frank Dietrich left Thursday for Plaluviow , Nebr. , where ho will spend u short time visiting his son , Alvin , and looking after business interests. The convention of the Church of Christ of district number one was held at Verdon , April 2 , : t and -1th. This district comprises Richardson , Pawnee , Johnson and Ncmahii counties has about twenty churches and a member ship of 20,000. The convention was the largest of its kind ever held. There being over ninety delegates from out side the city. It was very enthusiastic and pronounced the best ever held In district No. 1. Reports showed that the churches were generally enthusias tic and aggressive. There were ses sions devoted to church work , Hlble school , O E , C. W. B. M and Edu cation. Somn of the addresses that attracted attention were Convention Sermon by G W. Welner , of Pawnee City. Mr. Welner is a preacher of no mean ability Another address by L.C Corycll , of Auburn , on Business in Christianity and Christianity in Busi ness was full of practical thoughts , i'1 L. Pctlt's sermon on "Tho Nebraska. Boy ' was pronouncnu one of the b'-f thiiics of the entire convention. Th * Blblo School session was exceptionally strong and practical. The address o' A. J. Holllngsworth caused the au- mlrers of Cotner University to rejoice in his enthusiasm fur that xvorthy In stitution , pictures of college campu- ' faculty and Cotner yells were In evi dence. Much special music of high order was furnished by the Vcrdoo church and the convention voted thut Verdon was a royal entertainer.
