George Phinney had a sale Tuesday ,
to dispose of his live stock , fanning
implements , etc. A large crowd was
in attendance , though the roads were
in a bad condition.
On Tuesday evening a surprise par
ty was given at the he me of Mrs. C. H.
Schaffer , in honor of her daughter ,
Nellie. It was as complete a surprise
as any of her friends could wish , but
Nellie soon recovered , and the guests
spent a pleasant evening with games
and music. About twenty were pres
ent , refreshments were served and af
ter several hours of fun the company
bid their young hoste.ss good night and
separated for their respective homos.
Tuesday evening at " o'clock , at the
home of the hriOe's jwrents , Frank
Dicks and wife , of Rule , Evan Ditni
and Jennie Dicks were united in mar
riage , Rev. Aikinan officiating. The
bride was attired in blue with white
trimmings and the groom wore the
conventional black. While still at
supper sounds of sweet music came
frtjin the outside and an investigation
showed a crowd with cow bells and tin
pans. The groom put up a treat to
silence the music. Many valuable aim
useful presents were , received. The-
bride and groom arc well known in
Rule , and have many friends who
wish them a happy and prosperous
voyage through life.
