was a kind and loving father and was
loved by all that knew him , he being
one of IJlchardson county's olciest
settlers. Funeral services was preach
ed by Rev. Grandenvol , Wednesday at
1 o'clock and the remains laid to rest
in the Arago cemetery.

Passenger Robbed.
A passenger on train 105. on
the Missouri Pacific road , which
arrived in this city at 2:55 : in the
morning , was held up and robbed
of $140.
lie had just stepped out on the
platform of one of the coaches as
the train pulled up at the depot
platform , when he was confront
ed by a burly negro , who , with
a pistol pointed thrcatingly at
the passenger , compelled the lat
ter to disgorge.
The passenger gave up the
money without resistance and
when the negro had it in his pos
session he lied. The victim gave
the alarm and persons who heard
of the robbery gave chase. There
were three freight trains in the
yards and these were searched
without avail. No trace of the
hold-up could be found.
The passenger who was robbed
did not give his name and did
not remain to prosecute the
search. It is said that the negro
had been a passenger on the
train and had followed his vicim
all the way from Omaha. Nenia-
ha County Republican.
