Cotmly. For County Attorney ; JOIIN WII.TSK For representatives : CASS JONUS J. F. SnuimuT AI.IIKKT STAI.DKM Will somebody tell us why it is that a school marm is always the best looking girl in the commu nity. Wouldn't it be a line tiling if we had a good band and could look forward to a concert every Saturday night ? Now that the smoke has cleared away and the forces are lined up for battle it looks like an easy thing for the republican ticket. If there is anything that Falls City likes better than a couple hundred good looking school inarms we would like to have somebody mention it. The stub trains arc doing a splendid business and may be considered permanent. The crews are renting houses and moving their families here as fast as possible. Frank Shubert will make one of the most energetic , conscien tious and able representatives this county has ever had. He is entitled to the vote of every member of his party and will doubtless receive it. The Tribune will soon com mence another good serial story for the winter's reading. We arc looking the market over for the best obtainable and will soon announce our choice. You may depend upon its being a good one. We are still waiting for the farmers mutual telephone com panies to take advantage of ti hard earned victory and builil their lines into town. It has no\\ been more than three months since the franchise was granted and nothing is being done. John Wiltsc is one of the mosl deserving young men in the county. He is a good lawyci and an honest man. He will never fear to do what he consid ers right , neither will he bt afraid to prosecute the criminal in high places as well as the criminal of less consequence. Cuss Jones spoke with jusi pride when he said that he stand ; upon his record as a member ol the legislature. No measure came before that body during Mr. Jones' incumbency that h < did not vote on the side of tin people. He has earned and wil receive the election for a sccom term. George Sheldon continues t < Lit the railroad tax dodgers fron the shoulders. The republican may as well make up their mind that the railroads will fight witl the democrats if Brown and She ! don are nominated. It is cquall ; true that people will fight witl the republicans if these tw young men arc nominated. Mr. Stalder is not very we ! known in the east end of th county , but at home he is re garded as one of the most cor scientious and conservative farn ers in the comity. He is not politician and never has beei : but he is wide awake to the intei est of the whole people and is man in whom every dependenc can tie put. , In order that credit may be given where credit is due we will say that the vinegar factory is the result of the labor and the investments of W. A. Greenwald , Tom Gist , Henry C. Smith and Ned Towle. These men have worked in the face of great dis couragement and have put their money into the concern with a liberality that makes for success , The Epworth Assembly passed resolutions condemning Mr , Rosewater - water as an enemy of temperance. While we arc not for Kosewater , we feel that an injustice is being done him. He is not a prohibi tionist but he is a temperate man. It is not generally known but nevertheless true that he has never tasted liquor nor smoked in his life. That is a pretty good record so far as temperance is concerned. Norris Hrown seems certain to receive the nomination for United States senator at the hands of the state convention. His nomi nation would mean a hundred votes to the legislative ticket in I this county. He is the kind of an independent fearless young man the people love , and all the railroads in the state cannot turn the people away from him. What Cuminings is to Iowa , what La Follette is to Wisconsin , what Folk is to Missouri , Brown will be to Nebraska when made sena tor. The Tribune is very proud of the fact that it was by months the first paper in Nebraska to suggest his nomination. Many was the farmer who came in from the field a little early last Saturday evening , got the chores done , washed up and put the family in the carriage and drove to town to hear the band. No class ol men are more entitled to a little vacation at the weeks end than the hard working farmer. No class of ladies are more entitled to the rest and rec reation of a drive to town to hear good music than are the wives and daughters of the farmers. The merchants of this town are entitled to commendation for bringing the Hiawatha band here. It wouldn't be a bad ideate to repeat the dose in the near future. Real Estate.
