Mrs. W. R. Adams of Santa CruK , California , is visiting with her brother Geo. Dilts and other relatives in this city. Judge Raper of Pawnee City and C. G. Humphrey and wife of Verdon , were the guests at sup per Saturday evening of G. A. Abbott and wife. Dr. Allison and wife were Stella visitors this week , being delegates from the Presbyterian .church to the Sunday school con vention being held there. Muriel , the small daughter of Tom Naylor is suffering with a broken right arm , sustained from falling off a fence , tt is a com pound fracture and exceedingly painful. Grant Ocamb of Rule was in this city Wednesday on .business. He is opening up a new general merchandise stock in Rule , his ad appearing on the eighth page oi this issue. * * - We received a letter from Col. Jack Glines yesterday which was a pleasure in itself. Jack is now General agent for the Peters Shows and is certainly making good , as he always does. The great drama of Damon and Pythias is soon to be present ed in this city. Frank Marvin and nephew , Gco. 10. Strong , came up from Oklahoma City last Thursday. Dorothy Miller attended the convention at Stella this week as a delegate from the Presbyterian Sunday school. Florence Boose , who has been teaching school , is spending her vacation at the home of her par ents Wm. lloosc and wife. Gilyard Thomas and wife came up from St. Joseph and accomp anied by II. C. Smith drove to Sycamore Springs and spent Sun day there. - - * - There will be morning and eve ning services at the Brethren church next Sunday. Rev. R. R. Teeter the new pastor and his family arrived in this city last Wednesday. Probably no play ever written has done as much for the uplift ing and education of humanity at that masterpiece of dramatic composition. Strong returned Monday to their home in Oklahoma City after spending a few day with friends here. Floy Grinstead entertained a few friends at a card party last Friday evening. The evening was very pleasantly spent at the various games. Mrs. Lena Harp arrived in the city Tuesday from Iowa Falls , for a short visit with relatives. She is a niece of Mrs. J. A. McCormick - Cormick and John Ross. F. Lafferty and wife who have been visiting with their daugh ter Mrs. Frank Kversole left last Thursday for Lincoln on their way to their home at Strang. Fred Beaulieu returned Wed nesday from a business trip to Welch , I. T. where he purchased a general merchandise stock. He | and his family expect to move to heir new home just as soon as irrangement can be perfected Lewis Plege was at Leaven- worth Thursday last and made irrangements for another ship nent of ice. He tells us that it will be impossible to hold the present price on this comodity and the consumer may look for an advance. So far Falls City consumers have been getting lower rates then any of our neighbors and while this price looks high we must have it and ought not to expect the ice man to work for nothing , i The Knights of Pythias of this city have in view an entertain ment of rare merit , not only for their own members and friends but for the general public as well.
