Farmers arc signi fying a desire for this change and a number of the merchants are anxious to meet the demand. A woman with a small child was stranded in this city Thurs day last. They were found at the M. P. depot by night watch Richards who brought her to the City hotel until aid was furnished to send her to relatives at Lincoln. W. W. Spurlock of Salem is now recovering from a severe bite of a large black spider. While sorting potatoes in the basement of his store Monday a week , and feeling a sharp pain in his linger he investigated finding a large black spider clinging to his hand. It was torn away and the injury immediately dressed by a surgeon. The little yellow Dandelion seems determined to capture the lawns in all parts of the city and unless a united effort on the part of all is centered toward its de struction , it will continue its spread each year. But little can be accomplished in the destruc tion of this pest by a few , as the seed from your neighbor who docs not make an effort , is suffi cient for a whole neighborhood.
