Edwards. Grant Goolsby of Verdon was in the city Monday and while here remembered The Tribune in a pleasant manner. Stella Johnson. Caroline Cun ningham and Katie Melissa were among the Verdon representa tives here Friday. Miss J. Barry spent the past week in Chicago purchasing a fine line of new spring millinery patterns and supplies. James Bunch of Merrill , Kas. , was a Falls City visitor Saturday and took the opportunity of pay ing The Tribune force a call. Chas. Leister's store building is being remodeled inside. Mr. Leister expects to open a pool and billiard hall there May 1st. W. A. Ilanna was a pleasant caller at this office Monday and transferred a bright dollar for a years subscription to this local paper. Thomas Glines went to Hia i- watha Friday where he expects to locate. Thomas is an expert tonsorial artist and will be an addition to that town. Jas. Bascom who has been in this city for some time returned Saturday to home in Pawnee ' Cit } ' . After a brief visit there he will go to Indianopolis and Chicago. Henry Barry of Atchison is in the city Saturday while on is way to Shubert to attend the , funeral of his sister , Mrs. Roy , King , who died Friday. L. J. Harris was down from Dawson Friday. The way Pittsburg girls raise money for the church is told in an article on another page of this paper. This method would make a hit in Falls City. William Casey formerly of Barada but now located near Chamberlain South Dakoto , is in the city. Mr. Casey came to at tend ( he funeral of his sister , Mrs. Roy King. "I am agin the beef trust. " said a prominent citizen the other day , "but when I sit down to a breakfast of Brook field sausage I feel that even the greatest evils have their compensations. " The Tribune is verv proud of its correspondence. We feel that we have the best staff of corres pondents in the county and our efforts to represent the whole county is' being appreciated. Guy Green wald and Bert Baker blossomed out in spring attire last Saturday. The teachers were in town. If all the good looking girls in town could vote Bert would be elected city clerk in a walk. Wm. Maddox has been quite ill for the past two weeks with the prevailing "pink eye. " He has been rendered almost blind by the affliction for some time though he is reported as improving at this waiting. If a few Falls City men would change their street corner addresses into monologues il would be better for the town. Clarence Pcabody of St. Joseph spent several days of this week visiting with Sam'l Prater and family. The social to be givcd by the School District 85 has been in definitely postponed on account of bad weather. Joe Varner went to Leaven- worth on Tuesday to attend the Agents Convention held in that city during the week. Frank Wolf and family have moved into the Cook cottage in the addition which had just been vacated by Allan D. May and family. II. E. Lemon went to Omaha Wednesday as a delegate from the local order Woodman of the World to arrange for the state log-rolling and picnic during the summer. M.
