Nearly Lost Them.
Nobody will ever know just
how near Palls City came to los
ing the stub trains. A protest
over making Falls City the
terminus was sent in from the
neighboring towns affected by
the change. Atchison joined infer
for fear the change might event
ually result in the loss of the
division to her. The protest
was of such character that a
telegram was sent from the St.
Louis headquarters to stop the
printing of the schedule to which
a reply was sent that the new
time cards were already printed.
The order for the change was
then permitted to stand and
Falls City has the trains.

At the Getting.
Owing to several other social
functions on Wednesday evening
there was not a very large house
in attendance at "The True Kentuckian -
tuckian , " which is a play of good
southern scenes , has a fine com
pany and good staging. The
special scenery was fine and each
member qi the company was especially -
pecially adapted for their various
roles.
