John Gilligan left Sunday evening for a five days stay in Oklahoma. A. A. Tanner and wife of Ilum- boldt spent a few days in this city this week. W. II. Morrow of Shubert was transactiug business in this city during the week. Grant Sperry is confined to"the home this week suffering an at tack of rheumatism. Mrs. F. Werner who has been ailing nearly the entire winter , is again able to be out. Anthonj' Nesladek came down from Verdon Monday and left on the afternoon passenger for Rulo. A. Graham left Wednesday for Omaha to attend the lumbermen's convention in session in that city. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson left Sunday for Superior , Neb. , where they will reside in the future. Will Tanner of Arapaho , Neb. , was called here Wednesdaj' by the death of his father J. J. Tanner. John Eentner on Route 2 re membered this weekly in a sub stantial manner the latter part of last week. Walter Albright and Col. Hard ing of Humboldt conducted a sale in these parts the latter part of the past week. Ena Cooper who has been spending the past week with Falls Cit3' friends returned to her home at Ilumboldt Sunday. Mabel Whitaker will leave Friday for Colony , Old. , where she has received an appointment as instructor in the Seger school. Rev. Cline left Tuesday for Ilumboldt where he will assist the M. 15. pastor of that city in conducting a series of revival meetings. George Abbott made a business trip to Omaha last Saturday. We understand he started toward the north pole for ice-weather and from present indications the trip was a success. J. M. Evans of Shubert was a business visitor to this city Mon day and a pleasant caller at The Tribnne headquarters. He did not forget to renew his faith in this family journal for which he has our thanks. Chas Loree has been confined to his home with rhuematism for several d a 3' s past. Elmer Stoughten has been performing the duties of clerk of the cour during the absence of Mr. Loroe with perfect satisfaction to al concerned. While Charlie's ill ness has been the cause of greai suffering to , him , he is greatl } improved and will soon be at the stand ready for business. Clarence Simons was up from Rule on Monday. Burns of Verdon had a car of cattle on the Kansas City market the first of the week. Ray Be Putron of Lincoln .was a uest at the Geo. Holland resi dence Saturday and Sunday. Morgan & Greenwald market ed a shipment of cattle on the Kansas City market during the week. _ Mrs. Frank Brcnixer spent a portion of the past week with her sister , Mrs. L. L. Alspaugh in Ilumboldt. The ladies of the Presbyterian church will hold an exchange at the hardware store of J. C. Tan ner Saturday , Feb. 13. County Treasurer Lord moved his family from Salem to this city Friday last and will soon be at home on Stone street to his numerous friends. Rev. Smith is conducting a mission at Schuyler , Nebraska during this week. Rev. Sam'l Mills of that place will conduct the services at the Episcopal church in this city during the pastors absence. Mrs. Jane Sinclair returned Frida3r from Blue Springs and is visiting at the home of John Ilossack. Harlow's evaporated prunes , peaches , apricots and apples arc the finest on the market , prices are the lowest. Milt and Clem Bohrerare visit ing at their home in this city , and will return to Geneva this coming Sunday. Fish , Fish , Fish ! Minnie Jusscn returned home the first of the week from an ex tended visit with her sister Mrs. Stewart in the Indian Territory. Mrs. Earl Frakes and daughter Dorothy left Monday for Nebras ka City to join her husband who is employed in the packing house there. F. W. Cleveland and Son are busy packing and boxing their merchandise preparatory to leav ing for their new location in Ne braska Citjr. A. Roberts was a 13. & M. pass enger for Kansas City on Tues day morning. From there he will go to Joplin , Mo. , for a brief visit with his parents. The Gehling theatre should be well filled Friday night as the Gus Sun Minstrel company is one of the best on the road being composed of the best of artists and musicians. They made many friends during their stay in this city who will deeply regret their depar ture. Neil Thornton left Friday afternoon l'6r Omaha , his future home. Neil has been with us for a number of years and we arc sorry to lose him. We wish him ever } ' success in his new home. There seems to be considerable excitement in Auburn over recent disclosures in connection with a lawsuit that has been pending in this county for some time. Judge John S Stull and Fred llawxby are being investigated so report has it for misconduct that may result in their disbarment should the charges so freely made prove true. Fred Hummel one of the jurors attending the present term of court was taken very ill Friday night while deliberating on the case of the state against Hurk. It was necessary for him to re tire from the room and be treat ed by Dr. Kerr until Saturday noon , at which time lie hadsufli- [ ciently recovered to renew Ins labor.
