Elva Sears was the guests of Nellie Weaver in Verdon last Sunday. D. A. Walker of Shubert was the guest of Falls Citv friends Sunday. Samuel Mart ? : spent Friday and Saturday with his sons in Wymore. John Gilligan returned tile latter part of the week from Oklahoma- Alice Flowers a n d brother George left Sunday afternoon for Aberdeen , S. D. E. W. Elwell of Sterling Nebr. made this office a very pleasant cull on Monday morning. Mrs.'Dave Abbott of Omaha was the guest of Mrs. George Abbott , a portion of this week. Grant Stewart is again taking up the duties of agent at the B. and M. after a two months vaca tion. Mrs Frank Gossett returned to IvCavenworth Sunday after a oricf visit with relatives in this city. Mrs. Dan Ratekin and child of of Rule were the guests of Mrs. 5 Lloyd Giannini the first of this week. Mrs. Hattie Snidow and daugh ter Una were guests of friends in Nebraska City on Saturday and Sunday. John Cornell and family of Oneida , Kansas spent last week with his parents J II. Mr > . A. R. Bentley and daugh ter , Dorothy left Saturday after noon for White Cloud. Mr Bentley is employed in the mill at that place and it will be their future home. Ferd Friedly's salt of Poland ' ' Chinas at Verdon was a success as usual. He always has tops and they bring the prices at . every offering. The In dian Cave near Barada was visit ed and a pleasant time was en ioyed. Rev. Haskins went to Portis ' Kansas Monday in the intere&l of the missionary work of his de nomination. He will return Sat nrday , and on Sunday will con duct "Harvest Home" services ii his church. Alice Cleaver left Wednesday for Philadelphia where she wil attend the Pennsylvania Acad a my of Fine Arts.
