W. A. Smith , of Barada , was
in the city Satuiday making ar
rangements for a public sale
which is to take place in Barada
on Wednesday , August 23. Mr.
Smith will sell ten head of cattle ,
including four cows , one 2 year
old heifer , four yearling heifers ,
one bull calf ; 39 head of hogs ,
including 24 head averaging
about 125 pounds each , and 15
shoats. lie will also offer some
household goods and miscellane
ous articles. Mr. Smith is mak
ing this sale because he expects
to locate in southern Kansas in
the near future.
The defeat of the bonds was
expected by those who knew the

It looks natural to see Charley
Rickards once more presiding
over a lumber office and all his
old time friends- dropping in to
chat with him , and to secure his
