Lizzie Jennings of Surprise , lrs. Lydia Griffon of Herbron , I \rrs. : Alice ' Metzgar of this city I and \lrs. : Minnie Doty of Omai.a , ! and they were all present Wednesday - nesday with the exception of Mrs. . . Doty who was detained at home I on the account of thc illness of I i + her husband. There was a large number of other guests present to join in thc - congratulations ] which were freely - ly ] and sincerely bestowed. One of thc pleasing ] features of thc occasion was thc sumptuous dinner which was served and to : which all present did ample jus- tice. This worthy couple were the _ recipients of many handsome and useful presents as re.11inders of this occasion to which so few arc fortunate enough to experiencc. Double W eddh g. On 'l'ucsday , larch 28th , at four o'clock in the afternoon occurred - currcd the double ] wedding of \Vm. Dccking-er to Nora Daesch- ner and Fred Brecht to Amanda Dacschncr. The solemn and impressive - pressivc ceremony was performed by l ev. Ianshardt at thc German - man church in this city in thc presence of a very large ] number . of friends and rclativcs. After con ; ; ratul ations , about two hundred - dred of the young friends of the happy couples ] repaired to the beautiful home of Jacob Daesch- ncr on North Stone street , where the afternoon and evening was spent in pleasurcablc pastimes by . the assembled ! gucsts. A bountiful - ful and elaborate ] wedding supper was served by the mother of thc brides. William Dcc1dngp.r is one of. . the most capable ] young farmers of thc county. His habits and character arc above reproach , and his business ability and unusual industry has resulted in thc OWL crship of one of thc finest farms in Jefferson precinct. His bride is thc daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Dacschncr , and is known for her many gracious and Nom- anly qualitics. The union of these two young people is one of . great promise , and thc best wish- cs of a host ot friends arc tendered - . cd in their new rclations. Fred Brccht is a young man of unusual qualities and business abilit ) ' . Hc is ill possession and control of a large farm owned by his father where hc and his wife will make their homc. Mrs. Brccht is also thc laughter of Mr. and 1'lrs. Jacob Daeschner and her many charming qualities have endeared her to a host of fricnds. 'l'he 'l'ribune will not under such happy circumstances , tender its condolence to the proud par- cuts ! who have lost two beautiful daughters , but rather congratu- late them upon the acquisition of two splendid ] sons , and tender its most hearty congratulations to II thc young people who start life under such auspicious circum- stances. E. E , Mettz Ezra Elias Mett7. was born in Calhoun county , Ill. , Jan. 28,1842 and hed in halls City , Nebraska March 26 , 1905 aged)3 rears , 1 . month and 28 days. Mr. \Iett was thc youngest in a family of 14 childrcn. His father was a soldier in thc war of 1812 and also in thc Back ] Hawk Indian war of 1832. The mother lived to be almost a hundred years old , , she died in this county a few years ago. The dcccascd rcsidcll in Illinois until thc breaking out of the civil war. He was a so- dier in 142 Ill. , Inft and was sta- tioned for some time at lcmphis. He was commissioned by Presi- dent Lincoln as second licutenant. Mr. Mctt came to Nebraska about 18J7 and resided for a time at Brownvile ] , later was in busi- ness with his brother Chas. Mcttz at Arago. About 35 years ago came to Falls City , where he has since rcsid d. Hc has been in thc Richardson count ! ) ' hank for 24 ycar 'l'hc Metl family were Methodists in their religious affiliations - liations and hc was haptised in his infancy. \lr. Mett \ vas twice married , his former wife lied a number of years ago leaving three sons , one in thc Philippine Islands , one in California and the other in A.ri- zen a. In 887 he was united in mar- l iagc to Miss Mary estcrcr of St. Joseph , who with one laughter , Miss Lucilc survive him. In ad- dition thereto , many relatives and and friends will miss him and mourn his dcparturc. Mr. Mcttz was a Mason of rank a Knight 'rem pIaI' . Hc was a gentleman of high honor , a good business man who has thc respect of his assodatcs. One that will be missed in our community. Funeral services were held ] from thc home on Tuesday at 2:30 : p. m. March 28 and in charge of Rcv. \V. ' 1' . Cline , Ph. D. The Masonic lodge followed the body to the grave and paid a loving tribute to a deceascd brother. 'l'he interment took place ] in the Steele cemetery ill the presence of a large number of pcople. - Jacob Rieger. Jacob Hicg-er died at Lincoln li'rirlay.1\1arch 24 , 1905 at the age of 63 years. ? 1r. ieg'cr had been a sufferer for the past three or four years and death cause to relie'c him as above statcd. lie was born in Germany and camc to this coun try at an early ag-e. . He has been a resident of Richardson - ardson county for a number of years. lIe leaves a wife and four sons to mourn his lentil , 'l'he funeral was held from thc family residence on Sunday , intcrmcnt taking place in the Zion cemetery cast of town.
