district may be cstahlishcd ; thc
samc .LIso sets out the dulies of
county boards , made and provided -
ed in such cases ; amongst which
is that wheal a n11111ber of fill an-
ciall\ responsible citizens : shall
place before them a good and
sufficient bond and petition , it be-
commies thcir duty to order a sur-
vcy made by a competcnt engineer -
ccr prcscribing' thc dutics of the
engineer { . to wit ; that hc shall
calculate thc arc of all the lands
to b .i bcncfittcd , and that he shall
estimate thc probable cost and
damag-c to every land' owner
within thc given drainag-c district -
trict and that the county board
shall , as a loan to the drainagc
district from the county general l
