Ralph Lewis , second son of E.
O. Lewis was the victim of a ser-
ious and painful ] accidealt Friday
night. The young man was attempting -
tempting to board a freight train
at Napier , Mo. , and in some man-
ner his foot slipped throwing both
feet between the bumpers of the
cars. Upon the cars coming together -
gether before he could release
himself both heels were badly
crushed in the fleshy part. Fortunately -
tunately 110 bones were broken.
He was brought to Falls City
about one o'clock Saturday morn-
ing and was taken to the Mercy
hpspital where Dr. Houston dressed -
ed the wounds. The probability
is that the injured boy will be dis-
.abled for a long time , though he
is doing nicety at this writing
and no permanent injury is fear-
ed.

cently returned from Germany ,
came up from Vermillion , Kans
for a visit with their daughter ,
Mrs. Oleva Belisle.
