Saturday John icldloff , who
. lives nine miles north of this city ,
had the misfortune to be thrown
from a load of hay , dislocating
her wrist and suffering a coin-
pound fracture of the left fore
arm. Dr. Rush was summoned
and reduced ! the fracture. At
this writing the patient is resting

Services as usual at the , Baptist
church. Dr. Selingcr will begin
a short series of summer discourses -
courses on the general subject ,

On account of the wet weather
the management of the Salem
chautauqua have decided to aban-
don the same for this year.
No Circus.
Owing to the recent heavy rains
which put the roads in such bad
condition that Ringling Bros.
were unable to get their heavy
wagons to the show grounds the
circus was dcclared ofT yesterday ,
and as a consequence there were
many disappointed people in
town. .
