At this time , however , to reclaim - claim thc overflowed lands of thc county is thc paramount issue with every citizen : The mouth of thc Ncmaha river - cr is three miles from thc B. & M. depot at Rule and is not less l han sc\'cnty-livc feet below it. , Time LM. . depot at Salem is fifteen miles from Rulo. Low water mark at Salem is i about fifteen feet below thc depot ; leaning - ing sixty feet , which divided by fifteen miles would make four feet per mile , even if thc B. & M. railroad were a perfect levcl. I mention this to silence a cer- tain individual of Falls City who has been saying , with an air of wisdom , that thc Ncmaha valley has a fall of only two feet per milc. Some men may give credence - encc to this story to the disadvantage - vantage of all. Owing to thc late -arrival of thc train , the 'l'ccumseh hoys ) did not arrive until five o'clock , hut they were ready to go to work as soon as they arrivel , and from the first it was seen they were out- classed , though the ) ' put up a stubborn fight for the supremacy. This makes ten gamcs thc Colts have played this season winning eight of thcm. They will play with Atchison next Sunday and it promises to bc one of thc best games of thc scason.
