Commencement exercises were held at thc school building on \Vcdncsday evening , June 1st. I IIon. J. L. .McBricn ] , deputy state superintendent of T4incoln delh'- erect thc class addrcss. The ad- dress was an able one was to thc t point and greatly pleased all present . County Sup C.roclccr presented the diplomas and delivcrcd a splendid address which was well rcech'cd. The members of the class all acquitted themselves well and were thc recipients of many handsome boqucts and beautiful prescnts. The entire program was good and if space permit t'd wc would make special mention of each participPt1t. \Vc feel however that this report - port would lack too much did wc not mention the fact that the ladies quartette by Amanda Dacs- elmcr , : , aura Pribbcno , Alma Daeschncr and Ida Pribbcno brought down thc housc. No. 9 was in Falls City Monday. I-Ic will attend the State University summer school. The Dawson seniors were down to Falls City last Monday to get their pictures takcn. H. 14. Klocpfel , who taught last year in district 50 , has con- tractcd to teach the school in district 53 during the ensuing ycar. The institute this year will beheld held in Palls City August 15th to 20th inclusivc. It is now assured that Cora Betts will remain in Falls City at least anotHer year , as principal of the Central school. At a rcccnt meeting of the Board of Education - tion her salary was increased to $70 per month. National Educational Association. St. Louis , June 28 to July 1. Last year Nebraska sent to thc N. E. A. nearly 700 members. Our state should be even better represented at St. Louis this ycar. Nebraska headquarters will bc at "Plie Inside Inn , " rooms 5138 and 5139 exposition grounds. It is a log storehouse in Para " which is now used t.o shelter some of the mikado's art trensures. An age of 1,200 years is claimed for it.
