The Stella base ball team crossed bats with Vcrdon on Sun- day resulting in a score of 4 to Gin in favor of the locals. A large crowd witnessed the game. G. D. Knapp and wife left last Sunday. The surprise on Ruth Moore : i I last Thursday evening was com- plete. A large crowd was pres- ent and after Ruth composed her- self they were entertained with ; games and music. Carrie and Ivlaud Harbaugh spent Sunday with friends in Humboldt. Floy and Hazel Grinstead of Salem are visiting Dr. Wagner and family. Gus Schlosser of Falls City visited his parents south of this city over Sunday. W. B. Alexander attended the republican state convention at Lincoln last weck. Steve Miles and Ed. Hayes were up t rom Falls City the lat- ter part of the week. Daye Thomas was down from Lincoln during the week attend- ing to business ma tters. Bess Graham returned home Monday : from a visit with Salem and St. Joseph friends. Bryan O'Connell and wife are rejoicing over the arrival of a little daughter at their home. Florence and May Leslie of Sa- lem visited relatives in Nims City and this city the last of the week. ' .rhc junior class of the high school gave an entertainment ill honor of the seniors at the home of Bea Ryan last Friday evening. The house and lawn were prettily - ly decorated for the occasion All report a delightful time. Last Saturday was E. J. Satter- white's birthday , and in the eve- ning his friends reminded him of the occasion by taking possession of his home.
