The blaze spread so rapidly that it was impossible - possible to save the household goods , in fact some members of family had difficulty in escaping the flames. Segrist Thursday night and made away with a watch belonging - longing to Miss Freemole , one of the school teachers \vho boards there. An epidemic of measles in . a light form cut down the attend- ance at school considerably dur- ing the past few weeks , and it has also attacked a number of the older peoplc. . : Mrs. J. F. Bennett , wife of the pastor of the Baptist church , left ' last week for a visit with relatives - tives at MarshalHon , Iowa , and other points in that state. She expects to be gone several weeks. Humboldt high school lads defeated - feated a like team from Dawson in a base ball game last week by a score of 15 to 5. Fred Wesfal1 , who for a num- ber of years has resided seven miles northwest , died at the advanced - vanced age of seventy-two years and was buried on Sunday from the Lutheran church ten miles from this city , the service being conducted by the pastor. The city council has agreed to call a special election for the pur- pose of voting on the proposition to bond the city for a new hall , but the ordinance has nOt , passed yet. yet.Mrs. Mrs. Maggie Boss Unland died at her home a few miles from this city after a short illness. The deceased was the wife of Arthur Untand a well known w , young farmer , and a daughter of J. M. Boss. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist } church Sunday afternoon. Some special music was rendered in German and the house was pack- to suffocation. The deceased was a member the Royal Neigh- bors which order attended the last sad rites in a body. She leaves a husband and little babe , , but a few weeks old. A defective flue caused a small blaze at the home of E. A. Tucker - er last Wednesday but no partic- ular damage was done aside from frightening the family and neigh- bors. Wilbur Ellis , the twelve year old son of : Mrs. Thos.
