St. Patricks day was celebrated
by a masquerade ball held at
Ryans hall in the evening. Many
of the costumes were both origi-
nal and unique and the dance
was a great social success.
The meeting of married ladies
Kensington club which was to
have been held yesterday was
postponed on account of the rain
The meeting will be held this
afternoon with Mrs. Frank Green- .

Hossack entertained the members
of the Degree of Honor on Thurs-
day night at an Apple Gather-
- ing. The plan of entertainment
was something new and afforded
much pleasure to the parUci-
pants.
Mrs. W. S. Korner was hostess
to Sorosis on Wednesday after-
noon the usual number of mem-
bers being in attendence. This

meeting in finishing up the work

Moore of Plattsmouth to give in
the near future , her lecture on
Mexico illustrated by stereopti-
can views. A paper given by
Mrs. A. E. Hill on "Music as a
Factor in Natural Life" was interesting -
teresting and displayed much
originality of thought. After
the paper was read the subject
was fully discussed. Ivlrs. Kor-
ner assisted by Mrs. Morrow and
Mildred Holland served fresh-
ments.

The first district convention of
the Knights and Ladies of Secur-
ity will be held in this city April
27lh. , The Falls City council ex-
pects to entertain their distin-
guished guests in the popular
manner. It will be a large gath-
ering and one of much impor-
tance.
. Wednesday was the anniversary -
sary of an important event in the
life of Mildred Holland. This
and the fact that her friend Lillie
Schmidli is soon to leave Falls
City for her. new home in , St. Joe
were the occasions for a cleverly

home on Wednesday evening.
About twenty-four of the school-
mates and friends of these young
ladies were pres nt. A pleasant
evening was spent , games were
played and a two course supper
was served. Miss Mildred was
the recipient of several beautiful
presen ts.
Twelve young ladies met Wednesday -
nesday afternoon at the home of

Anna Dorrington and organized
a kensington club that promises
to become a prominent social or-
ganization. The club name has
not yet been decided upon. A
meeting will be held on Wednes-
day of each week and the next
meeting will be held with Bessic
Davi
Reba Eversol was hostess for
the H. . S. 1\1. club Saturday even-
