Adolph Mcinkc , a carpenter of
Grand Island was instantly killed
Saturday night by falling from a
ladder in his barn.

Beatrice died at his home in that

loss was about $1,000.

Chas. Sapp , living in tl'odd creek
precinct , Johnson county was attacked -
tacked ( by a vicious cow and before -
fore thc animal could bc driven

severe injury.

Harry S. Vernon , aged 21 , a

at Lodg-c Polc. He was setting a
car on the side track arid was riding
a brakebeani endeavoring to disconnect -
connect the air hose , when his
foot slipped and hc had his left
leg cut off seven inches above the
knee and thc tocsof his right foot
were amputated.
Sat. evening sonic small boys
were comtingdown a rather steep
hill in Pawnee City in an old buggy
Ropes ticd to thc front axles were
used to steer thc vehicle , and while
a smaller boy was trying to guide
t it one of the ropes became entang-
entangled
lcd and thc buggy ran to thc side
of thc road and into a ditch ,
throwing one af thc boys Johnny
Tisdalc , violently against a post.
Hc was badly hurt and when car-
ried to his home and physicians

was fractured. There are hopes

leading citIzen of Bern , a small
town across the line in Kansas ,
came very near burning to death
as thc result of being covered
with burning gasoline from a

lamp in thc Presbyterian church.
The lamp was not working . right
and hc thoughtlessly loosened a
cap which Permitted the fluid to
be forced out by thc prcssurc.
Fortunately assistance arrived bc-
for he had gone far and thc burns
were confined to his arms and
chest. his recovery is still a
matter of doubt.
