The jury was secured by noon Tuesday and the taking of testimony begun. . , _ ' Married Lena Obcrly and Archie M. IIoagland were married at the home of the bride south of Hum- boldt on Friday evening. About sixty guests were present when the ceremony was performed by Rcv. I-iehur. The young people are well known throughout the county and the congratulations of many friends are bestowed upon them. Wedding at Salem. Salem , January 28.-S1 ( citl ; to The tfribune-Hattie Ramel- ; and Glen Bronson were married at the home of the bride on last evening. The ceremony was per- formed by RePorter in the presence of about seventy guests After congratulations an elegant repast was erved. The newly married couple were the recipi- ents of many useful and valuable gifts. Both bride and groom are well known in this section of the county and both are very papu- lar. They will make their home on a farm north . of Verdon. . . . - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sustained Broken Wrist. Irs. Mary Cameron slipped 011 an icy walk Tuesday and fell in such a manner as to sustain a fractured wrist. The injury was given surgical attention at once but it will be some I time before she will have recovered from the effects. . _ Died Suddenly Irs. Nancy E. Mullen died very suddenly at the home of' her grandson , John S. Wilson in Preston Tuesday moriTing. 14Irs. Mullen was 92 years , 1 month and 24 days of age , having been born in Pike county , Mo. Dec. 4 , 1811. Irs. ! \'lullen was in good health for one of her adv wc.d : years , but shortly after " rising _ Tuesday morning she was stricken and died in about five minutes. The funeral was held on Wed- nesday and the interment was at the Anderson cemetery near Pres- ton. , Frank McDerma.nd Injured. Word was received from Kan- sas City , Tuesday to the effect that Frank l\1cDermand had suf- fered a severe fall which had resulted - sulted in concussion .of the brain and his life was despaired of. J as. Powell , a brother-in-law of \ Ir. NlcDermand went to Kansas City , 'ruesday , afternoon. The injured man formerly lived in this city and was associated with his father in the manufacture - ture of Columbian Stock Powders. When the headquarters of the firm were moved to Kansas City he went to that place fo live. His parents still reside in this ci t ) ' .
