1\Irs. 1. C. 1\laust planned a very
pleasant surprise for her brother ,
Joe Norris who is a guest at her
home and the plans were carried
into effect on Tuesday evcning.
About twenty friends were pres-
cnt and they spent the evening
playing flinch , panic and other
games. D a i n t y refreshments
were served and the evening was
one of much pleasure.

Years day. The shades were
closely drawn and the interior of
thc hall . . was lighted hy many
pink ' candle that shone forth
from thc smilax which was used
in the decorative schcme. Cut
flowers was also used with pleasing -
ing' and artistic effect Misses :
Dot Scott and Bessie Davis served -
cd chocolate and wafers and 1\lrs.
'Vm Uhlig- and Miss Zola Jones
served punch. Cigars were also
provided for thc gcntlcmcn. Music ' -
sic was furnished by Harncick's
orchestra. Many wre : the guests {
who called luring thc afternoon
and from two until five thc hall
was thc scene of picturesque ani-
