verdict of 4 500 was return ed by a jury in district court late Friday afternoon for the plaintiff 1 in the case of Jesse Blunt against the Chicago Burlington Quincy railroad company Blunt asked for 1 5000 1 he verdict was for injuries received when he fell from an engine that started sud denly Blunt was a fireman At the time the accident occur red Blunt was filling the sandbox on the engine which was stand- ing on a sidetrack at McCook Neb The engine was started suddenly as he alleges without warning and Blunt was thrown to the ground from the running board injuring his knee The defendant
