A SHORT TRIP CIRCUIT
At a meeting of the McCook Driving
club held last Saturday evening Sec
ret Elmer Kay announced that he
had -ranged a short ship circuit which
wou tart at McCook tho last week in
Aug J Wray the first week in Septem
ber Henkclman second week in Septem
ber Imperial third week Indianola
last week and Stockville first week in
October This will bring the McCook
and Indianola races three weeks apart
and will not in any way conflict with
each other
When the new driving club was or
ganized in March plans wero set on
foot to hold a race meet at McCook on
July 4th Recently it has been learned
that the railroad picnic would probably
be held at McCook on that date and the
driving club will try to arrange with the
railroad boys to help furnish ontertain
ment for the picnickers on Indepen
dence dny
Since making the dates for the aut
umn races it has been learned that the
K of P contemplated holding their an
nual festivities about the same time
The driving club therefore appointed a
committee to mako an effort to arrange
with the local K P lodge to harmonize
the programs so that both entertain
ments can be held on the same dates
with mutual benefits to both organiza
tions
The driving club intends to hold a
three day meet and the plan as outlined
by the board of directors Saturday eve
ning wad to mako one day KP Day
one day Hospital Day and one day
Good Roads Day and make a liberal
division of tho receipts with these dif-

present indications of prosperity and a
good crop year the members of the driv
ing club are unanimous in the opinion
that there ought to be something
doing in McCook this season and not
force the people of the city and vicinity
to go to other towns for amusement and
entertainment and spend their money
there With a program as above out
