Trainns 13 and 15 were con
solidated on Saturday running
many hours late
Engineer Will Archibald is
over from the Kansas branch un
til service is resumed
The only passenger train out
of OmaJin kit Tlrusrsday night
was Burlingtonn No 12
Train 14 Saturday wis
held for many hours at a point
east of Red Cloud by the snow
blockade
Traffic was blockaded over
the Kansas Oity line via Wymorc
all of last week commencing on
Thursday
A snow plow was derailed
near Oberlin Friday The wreck
er was sent over from here to
pick her up

McCook to Denver by Conduct

tary engine out to open up the
Kansas City line east of Red
Cloud Friday Tliis isa the first
time a rotary plow lias been used
on this division
Conductor E 0 Scott was
summoned to Lincoln Saturday
by a telegram announcing the
sudden death of his mother Mrs
Scott and little son accompanied
him on his sad mission
The company had more to
contend wiht on a main line
stretch between Red Cloud and
Wymorc than anywhere else This
part of the line was pracically
tied up Thursday Friday and
Saturday
Mr and Mrs Felix Kennedy
who have been in the city a few
days guests of lier mother Mm
Mary Mullen departed Sunday
mornilng on No 9 for their
home in Sheridan Wyoming go
ing via Denver where they have
a son attending school
Nine tramps were routed off
the tank of No 9s engine Sat
urday morning at this place just
before the train pulled out for
the west and an officer had to
ride the train to yard limit to
keep some of the mora venture

Fell To Her Death
After a frantic search of the
house Ralph Scott found the life
less body of his mother 3Irs
Mandaraa J Scott yesterday at
noon lyimg at the foot of the
stairs leading to the basement
01 home 129 North Twenty
ninth street Her skull was
crushed and she had been dead
for about a half an hour Mrs
Seott Iiad been alone in the house
all morning the entire family
being at work downtown Ralph
was the first of the family home
tor dinner and entering the
house lie called There was no
answer He walked to the kitch
ein She was not there Alarmed
he rushed through the house go
ing into every room She was not
in the house By this time thor
oughly alarmed young Scott ran
back to the latchen lie called
Again there was no answer 3Te
opened the door leading from the
kitchen into the Abasement Ho
ran to the first landing At the
bottow lay 1ms mother She nvas
dead Mrs Scott had gone into
the basement to put fuel in the
furnace From the position of
the body she had evidently trip
ped onthefirst landing and had
plunged head first down the
flight of stairs onto the cement
floor The fall was aibaut ten
feet Qlrs Seott was fifty-seven
