The town of Curtis has petition
ed the board of public lands and
buildings foa permission to take
the agricultural school farm into
the corporate limits The- object
of the town is to get certain pri
vate lands within the corporate
limrifc and to do this suit will
be neeessairy to take in the state
land The state board has not
acted and it is likely tlmt the
petition will be rejected Some
members of the board fear the
town might later attempt to cut
up the farm with streets A any
rate the state land would bring
mo additional taxes to the town
because state land is not taxable
