his investigations into the early history of southwest ern Nebraska Much of the work in preparing this paper Avas done by Senator Cordeal last winter while in the city in attendance on the legislature The paper dealt with early Indian politics the division of the state between the Sioux and the other tribes the battle with the Indians which was fought by the whites under General Oarr in 1S69 to family was entirely destroyed by fire Mrs Carson is in Alma where their son is very ill and Mr Car son was at the National hotel duT ing Friday night on account of havinjr done some interior paint ing
