I In the Senatorial Race to Stay
Despite stories which have been
given out to the contrary Con
gressman Norris will oppose Sen

Such is the substance of a let

Congressman Norris In the com
miunieationi he says I expect to
be a candidate for the senate and
not for the house I do not un
derstand how the report got
started certainly it was through
nothing tliat I had said or auth
orized
The story had been given little
credence by progressive republi
cans although there was some an
xiety over the point because of
the fact that the rumor of the Mi

given wide circulation The wor

makes almost certaan the fact thai
Governor Aldrieh will not enter
the race for the senatorship Fur
ther the candidacy of I D Ev

NORRIS SECRETARY
SAYS ITS UNTRUE
Congressman Norris formal fil

given by his secretary J R Mo
Carl while in Lincoln during the
day Mr McCarl was an early
mcirnang arrival and was register
ed at the Lincoln hotel lie de
clared there was no truth in the
report that Mr Norris will with
draw as a senatorial candidate
and get baek into the Fifth dist-
rict congressional race
I can say positively that Mr
Norris has had no thought oA
running for congress at any time
since he announced that he woulc
stand for the- senate said Mr

Mr McCarl recently recovered
from a three months siege of
