Cook had a very narrow escape
from death last Sunday hy fall

The excavation was about 20 feet
deep In falling she came in con
tact with a hoard near the bot
tom of the pool which saved her
doubtless from death by drown
ing or suffocation The little
children aroused the neighbors
and the woman was rescued from
her perilous position fortunately

son Meet Death in Frontier

cial Telegram The twelfth of
the big August rains fell last eve
ning causing some damage to the
railroads and loss of life as well
John Brown aged 70 years a res
ident of Frontier county and
Clarence Morrison of Watosn
Mo aged 23 years were drowned
while attempting to cross a swol
ien stream in a canyon northwest
of Stockville Morrisons body
was recovered a short distance
below where it had caught in a
wire fence Browns body was
found a half mile further down
the stream where it finally lodg
