the not winds and high temperatures of the past week corn instead of being injured finished the week with much more than ana verage growth This was the substance of the week ly crop bulletin issued by the Bur lington being the concensus of ob servation of every station agent on that railroad in the state Winter wheat is doing very well from Atchison to Omaha and is doing well on the remainder of the Omaha Burlington division but on the Wy more division west of the Missouri valley excepting the Lincoln divis ion the week was unfavorable for wheat and the damage is being esti mated at from 15 to 50 per cent of the crop On the McCook division west of Holdrege there will be one half of a wheat crop and from Hastings to Red Cloud the prospects at this time are not so good Small grains have been damaged in about the same ratio as the wheat Soil conditions from Atchison to Omaha are fair also on the ONeill and Sioux City lines Elsewhere on the Omaha division the top of the ground is dry but vegetation is not suffering seriously On the Lincoln division the ground on top is dry although there is still moisture in the subsoil Wymore conditions are parctically the same as Lincoln while McCook vicinity soil conditions are stil less satisfactory The ground is getting dry over practically the en tire division Lincoln Star Mr ije Jcpes Richard R Deabenderfer 24 Martha Marshall Rhcads 24
