Pupils to Give Program
The pupils of Miss Donisthorpes
room in the high school building will
give a public program next Tuesday
evening December 6th in the high
school auditorium at 8 oclock sharp
The little people have been working
hard and hope to see their parents
and friends out at the program Tues
day evening They have prepared
to give two little operettas and one
drill intermingled with musical se
lections To pay incidental expenses
a small admission of ten cents will
be charged at the door The pro
ceeds over and above expenses if
any will be used to buy an extra
amount of industrial material
The first play will be entitled
Old Mother Hubbard in which the
following characters are portrayed in
costume Old Mother Hubbard Her

second play will be entitled Red

McCook Commercial club which or
ganized and financed the campaign
to know that about one thousand
acres of land in this neighborhood
has been promised for sugar beet
planting next season The commit
tee representing the commercial club
has been prompt and effective in its I
work and has secured assurances as
above stated
Representatives of the Great AVes
tern Sugar Co of Denver expect to
be on the territory in the near fu
ture to complete the formal con
tracts
This action ought to result in re
viving and stimulating this most im
portant agricultural industry in our
vicinity and we hope will lead to im
portant developments along this line
Championship Game of Southwest
Nebraska Saturday
McCook high school will play with
the Beaver City high school at the
east ward grounds Saturday after
noon at three oclock for the high
school championship of Southwest
Nebraska Beaver City has defeated
every team east of here and McCook
has shown herself superior to all the
teams in this part of the state by
decisive scores The Beaver City team
averages 155 pounds to the man
which is about 25 pounds more than
the McCook team This will be the
greatest game of foot ball ever seen
in McCook Come out and yell for
