expenses etc paid 1663 On motion warrant was drawn in favor of Mr Taylor for the above amount Mr Taylor reports receipts from fines and books sold amounting to 2169 received for which he gives check Supt Taylor recommends Mrs Mar garet E West at 6000 per month and Miss Mabel Winters at 5250 per month both grade teachers On mo tion the above teactiers were unan imously and duly elected Application of Thomas Moore for janitor of west ward building was read and filed Mr Culbertson made the following motion seconded by Lawritson In view of the fact that Mr George R McDonald while a member of the McCook high school faculty as director of athletics did contract for the 1910 penant of the class amount ing to 412 and athletic supplies amounting to 577 and same were delivered in due time to George R McDonald further that the same be ing not paid for we the official board feel obligated to assume the debt and pay for same The motion was carried Moved by Culbertson that the pro ceedings of the absence to embark on a very tender enterprise Trenton girls got the long end of the score in the game last Thurs day evening with the McCook high school girls The score was 11 to 10 Mrs James Stokes and Mrs Wm Lewis gave a delightful and well ap pointed kensington last Thursday af ternoon to a large company of lady friends at the Stokes residence Dr R R Reed this week becomes a member of the Crystal Lake tent No 16 Knights of the Maccabees will join with the tents at Trenton Culbertson and In dianola in a grand rally and union class initiation to be held at McCook in the Menard hall Monday evening June 13 State Commander Thomas of Lincoln has returned to the city and will assist the local tent in se curing a large class for the big meet ing He has also secured the assur ance that the chief executive and su preme commander of the association Hon P D Markey of Detroit Mich will be present on that evening and will take part in the conferring of the degrees of the order assisted by the team from Trenton and the state commander Already a large class has been se cured and every effort is being put forth by the members to make the class not less than fifty for the de grees on that evening During the month of April State Commander Thomas spent several days in secur ing a class of fifteen candidates and all it embers old and new are now boosting for Crjstal Lake tent No 16 of McCook The tent is under many obligations to the state com mander for his efforts on their part in building up the membership and also in securing the presence of the highest officer in the association for this meeting On the 13th after the class initia tion Supreme Commander Markey will address the tent after which an informal reception will be held by the officers and members in honor of the supreme and state command ers Supt Chas W Taylor is very in dustrious these days making ar rangements for the big chautauqua which will open July 13 We can please you not only in price on wall
