A Farevell Rehearsal
The chorus choir of the Congrega
tional church held rehearsal at the
home of Mrs L Suess last Thurs
day evening the affair assuming the
characteristics of a farewell to Miss
Elva Barber who has been its direct
or and who on last Friday departed
for her home in York to remain
Refreshments were served and sev
eral music numbers added to the oc
casion Miss Barber attracted a
large circle of friends to her during
her professional residence in this
city who will regret her determina
tion not to return

week for Hitchcock and Red Willow
counties The Junior Normal enroll
ment now is larger than last year for

vent of institute attendance next

new rectory to be 28x28 feet
in dimensions two stories high hav
ing on the first floor the kitchen
dinnig room living room and recep
tion room On the second floor will
be four bed rooms and a bath Bis
hop Graves sent designs and instruc
tions and the local committee con
formed to them as nearly as possi
ble The plans seem to be satisfac
tory to the citizens who have con
tributed Oscar Grismore is the con
tractor The price is 216500 ex
clusive of the heating lighting and
screens We have in pledges and
cash 215000 Work has already
commenced We are anxious to have

ture requiring the care of a physi
cian one day last week
The action of the school board to
publish the proceedings of their
meetings is in the line of taking the
people more and more into their con
fidence and is a commendable recog
nition that the patrons might be in
