John A R Swanson
John A R Swanson was born in
Veanamo Sweden Juno 6 1887 and
was baptized in the Lutheran church
the same jear He came to Amer
ica in 1892 and died at his home
near Osburn Nebraska May 12 1910
aged 22 years 11 months and G days
There is left to mourn his loss a
father mother sister and three bro
thers
John was a hard working young
man of sterling qualities He po
sessed that genial happy disposition
that made everyone like him He
was well known in McCook having
been employed there for quite a
while
The cause of his death was appen
dicitis His illness was of short du
ration about three days and his
death was a shock to his many
friends While on his sick bed he
gave his heart to God and died tri
umphant in the faith One of his
last utterances was Of course I
would like to get well now but if
I go it is all right All that medi
cal skill and loving friends could do
was done but in vain and near mid
night Thursday he passed away
The funeral services were held in
the Methodist church at Quick Ne
braska Friday May 13 at four p
m conducted by Rev F C Tyler
the company that assembled more
than filling the church His body is
deposited in Garden Prairie cemetery
but his spirit gone from us forever
waves the palm of victory while his
voice echoes the praise of Jesus
Life over now and the strong man
at last
From earthly bond and atrain for
ever free
Into that mrger grander life hath
passed
To dwell forever gracious Lord with
Thee

Dont Miss Being Counted
OFFICIAL BUSINESS
The census enumerators in McCook Elmer Kay and
Claude Evans have practically completed their work Of
course it has been impossible for them to catch absolutely
everyone who should be counted It is very important that
every individual entitled to be should be enumerated For
the next ten years our citys population will be listed at the
figure established now You owe it to our city to help the
enumerators catch every name The blank below tells how
you can do this Act quick if you think yourself or some ac
quaintance has been missed
Cut this out and mall without stamp
