The McCook wrecker returned Sun
day afternoon from the Germantown
hill just east of Milford where it was
taken last Thursday evening to pick up
a wreck on the hill the Lincoln wrecker
being in the shops for repairs
The survey has been made for a new
track surrounding the round house and
heavier steel will be laid on the same so
that the largest engines can pass on the
south side of the round house on east
instead of going out west and backing
up
The company is now laying four inch
main from its water system to the yard
and headquarters building to expedite
the watering of trains etc Steam and
air pipes will follow Then trains will
be provided with air and steam in the
yard

day evening March 28th Tbpy have
secured McCooks best orchestra the
Peerless Pythians and are making every
plan to show their numerous guests of
that eventful evening a good time
The ball will be held in Menard hall
The tickets are SI 00 The grand march
will commence promptly at nine oclock
Saturday June 18 the Date
At the meeting Monday evening of
the parties having the matter in charge
it was decided to bold the next annual
Burlington railroad employes picnic on
Saturday June 18th The place is still
undecided but there is a strong leaning
oward some point on the McCook Im
perial line preferably at Wauneta Falls
A committee of arrangements was
chosen consisting of C E Emerson D
F Hostetter and A R Mehaffey
V H Dungan was elected treasurer
Future meetings will be held as re
quired Anangements will be perfect
ed to make this the greatest event of
the kind in this part of the state this
year
