COUNTY SUNDAY SCHOOL CONVENTION

of Red Willow Confer with

Schools of Red Willow county met in
convention ut McCook on Sunday and
Mondny with state workers
Thf opening session vas held in the
Bnpti t church Sunday afternoon and
were delivered by Rev C H
Lewis general secretary for Nebraska
and Miss Margaret E Brown state ele
mentary superintendent
Sunday evening union bervices were
held in the Methodist church which
was filled to the doors Addressee were
delivered on this occasion by both the
state workers Musio for tho evening
service was offered by an augmented
choir of the churoh
Mondays sessions were both held in
the Congregational churoh and both
sessions were largely given over to the
addresses of the stue workers The
morning session was partially utilized
in reports from the officers of the county
associations and the afternoon session
was absorbed to tome degree with re
ports of committees election of officers
etc

The next session of the association
will be held in the coming October at a
place and date to be announced later
E C Hill superintendent of the local
Methodist church was president of the
association during the past jear He is
one of the most earnest Sunday school
men in the county

The wolf hunt of last Thursday drew
a large company of hunters but no
wolves were bagged or seen
Prank Dudek moved onto the Bower
place Monday Charles Broomfield onto
the Dudek farm and Peter Balius onto
the Hatfield ranch
J B Fiechtners brother and family
arrived from Java S D Monday and
are visiting at the Fiechtner farm
Henry Eberts baby was taken severe
ly sick at the Mike Eschs Sunday and
required a doctor to releave it of its
spasms It is much better now
William Eaumbachs boys had a run
away this week which was exciting
but fortunately was without damaging
details or injury
About fifty neighbors and friends
surprised Mrs M J Stroud Tuepday
evening her birthday occasion There
were refreshments music and a general
happy time Her son George presented
his mother with a handsome gold watch
and fob
