any of the road overseers but to follow tho following plan To supply each road overseer with the proper claim blanks nnd have thorn at times suitable io them and whenever any work has been done on the road in their respective districts either by tlx m to file claims duly sworn to and approve 1 by aid overseers itemizing the number of cays of la bor performed by each man and the mounts due each with the county clerk Said claims arc to be presented by the county clerk to the board of county commissioners at their next meeting and by them directed to b paid by Jwarrant on the resiective road dis trict fuud said warrants to be signed by the county clerk and countersigned by the chair man of the cotyity board the same as any other county warrant Overseers shall draw their own pay in the same manner and on their claims shall state their time for overseeing separately from the amount due them for labor of any team owned by them The object of this order is not to take away from auy overseer the lawful right to say how the funds of their districts shall be expended or who shall be employed or where or how much work shall be done but simply to provide a uni form system for the keeping of the books anil records of each district and of nil the expendi tures The road overseers shall keep time books furnished them by the county clerk and on such books record the name of each man working each day tho date and the amount due each j day Also an accouut of all supplies bought by them for the district Uills lor nails and otner supplies bought by them for the district shall be filed with the county clerk by the parties of whom such supplies were pure ised and said parties must produce receipts from the overseer i who bought the same and no bills will bj al- lowed unless such receints filled or at the end of the year The county clerk is instructed to cause proper receipts to be printed and to supply the firms and merchants of whom supplies are likely to be bought with such receipts
