Lowe and brother W W Prall of Imperial clerk of Chase county spent a few hours in town Monday night enroute to Omaha He will also visit his parents in Pawnee City while away A R Wolfe of Pennsylvania visited his uncle V Franklin close of last week He recently retired from the service after an enlistment of four years in the navy in the electrical department going in at 17 years of age He was attached to the cruisers Tennessee and Philadelphia and visited French ports in South America Panama and on the western coast from which he is now returning to his home in the Keystone state charge of the boiler makers A derailment of Second No 77s train at Wray Saturday night interrupted traffic on the west end for several hours The wrecking outfit was sent up to pick a car of Bilvor ore out of the river and straighten up two loads of structural steel which were badly derailed No 76 Saturday Engineer Wick wire and Conductor Hegonberger hit the pile driver engine while it was work ing on a bridge about a mile west of Edison putting both engines out of commission The driver was incharge of Engineer Pierce and Conductor Ut ter Those Liquor Cases During the last term of district court two important liquor cases were dispos ed of by Judge Orr Minnie Brown was the first offender Sho waB tried to jury found guilty and the judge imposed a line of t500 which sum was largely increased by attorneys fees and costs perhaps reaching the thousand dollar mark Grace Leroy was the other culprit Sho pleaded guilty and was lined 5200 besides sho was taxed 50 attorneys fee and costs which made the round total 31000 No order respecting the disposition of the seized liquor has been made by the court The female defendantsbowever have made it clear that theyhave no further interest in the stuff
