report a fine time A novel and beautiful wedding took place in the Methodist church at 8 Wednesday mornin Rev HageniHU officiating united in bunds of matri mony Miss Lillie Untiedt and Mr Oscar Lohr The church was nicely decorat ed and a large audience of relatives and friends filled the church After taking breakfast at the Citizens hotel the happy couple left for an ouling to Denver and other western points We join in wish ing them a long and happy life With the heat of the long June days political matters are warming up Eawt Valley township will give Naden and Skalla a large vote We have heard several parties express the desire that Frank Jennings of North Valley be our next Sheriff Frank is all right and would serve the county well Our new time table gives us good train service both the ball game between Lebanon and Danbury Knowlps Darling gave a show Mon day and Tuesday nights at the opera house There was not a very big house Monday night It is one of the best little shows traveling Everybody should get to work and cut the weeds so we will have a neat little town for the 3rd of July Missouri Ridge crossed bats with Danbury Saturday Danbury beat them There was reported a very bad storm south of us last Friday which killed 58 head of horses and cattle at Norton Kansas People are very busy these days in the cornfields The Danbury commercial club has got 825 worth of fireworks for the 3rd of July Rea Oman was down visiting M M Young Sunday Little Charles Oman is sick this week on account of eating cherries seeds and all The basket ball girls practice every night Dodge of McCook was in town the past week on business The childrens day exercises Sunday were well attended in apito of the warm day and the program was well render ed S H Stilgebouer and family attended the childrens day exercises at Danbury Sunday evening The school meeting came off with the usual amount or jangle Dr Bartholo mew was elected treasurer Albert and George Wingo from south of Danbury helped J W Pepper put up hay last week A J Greer and family spent Sunday at the Yeater home northwest of town Mrs Chas Emerson and two sons of McCook csipk in on the west bound passenger for m few days visit with her parents Mr and Mrs Jesse Smith north of town Miss Nellie Smith came in from Mc Cook Sunday for a couple of wepks stay with her parents Mr and Mrs Jesse Smiih north of town and had gone as delegates to tho Sunday school convention of the Congregational church These are the days of the cantaloupes yet frequently we see eloping couples who come here to be married Miss Maggie Stambough is spending the week with her grandmother Mrs Lee We are enjoying the hottest weather of the season Wo cannot help feeling a little dis appointed when wo go to the storm cave in the middle of the night and no storm comes Rev Bickford of the Congregational church was in attendance at the Sunday-school convention held at Minden last week Albert Norman made a business trip to McCook Friday well attended and a good social time was had Ice cream and cake were served Charles Horton and S R Smith were McCook business callers Tuesday Mrs M Shackleton of Beaver Cross ing was in tjwn Monday briefly on business W P Elm9r has fitted up a bathing pool just west of town which will afford healthy recreation to the people here abouts during the summer months ANorman of the depot force went almost battles them to conquer the weeds by trying different implements W P Elmer found a hugh tusk in his sand pit It was broken but the two pieces fitted and made it about 10 feet long The two
