Missions Sunday
Last Sunday was Missions Sunday in
the German Congregational church
Rev John Hoelzer preached at the
three services of the day and the offer
ing for Missions reached the splendid
sum of 13j500 To this sum the young
people of the church will add consider
able next Sunday All three services
were listened to by crowded houses
The church was beautifully decorated
with flowers It was a proud day for
our German friends

School population and votes would
clearly indicate that McCook has a good
large lead over Holdrege in point of
population At the last election Mc
Cook cast between 150 and 200 more
votes than did Holdrege and the ratio of
school population is- about the same
Besides McCook always has a consider
able railroad vote out on the road every
election A full vote here would mean
about 1100 Our population easily ex
ceeds that of Holdrege by a half thous
