Electrical Operations These booku
have been purchased to meet a demand
for such work This is au age of the
development of electricity and the
study of electrical power is of supreme
interest and importance to many of our
readers It is the purpose of the library
to meet the needs of the men and boys
who are seeking information upon the
subject and to that end several more
up-to-date volumes have been ordered
and will soon be on the shelves It is a
noteworthy fact that all the literature
we have concerning this branch of
science is much read
Sara Cone Bryants How to Tell
Stories to Children is another new
book which will interest all who have
charge of children and mothers as well
as teachers will find the book helpful
There are two new books of fiction by
Anna Fuller A Venetian June and
A Literary Courtship The author
does not attempt a problem novel
but does something far better in giving
us two entertaining stories without
leaving unsolved problems
The first effect of A Venetian June
is to arouse in the readsr an earnest de
sire to sojourn for a time in the dream
like city of the gondola At the end
the book is closed with a feeling of won
derful familiarity with Venetian life and

A Literary Courtship begins with a
discussion in a New York young mens
club of the proposition that a piece of
fiction is more sure of success if pub
lished over a mans name than over that
of a woman One young man to prove
the negative writes a stoy and signs
himself Lillian Leslie Lamb which
name he choose for its euphony The
story soon moves to Colorado Springs
and a very entertaining love story de
velopes
Both books abound in bright conver
sations and both are illustrated by ex
quisite little photo engravings those of
Colorado Springs being so familiar to
us that we at once recognize them as
the well known by ways of the tourist
