present in the round house there George G Powell and J Langerman are both new machinists on the erecting sid this week Switch engine 13S0 from Denver will go into the back shop for an overhaul ing in a few days Mr and Mrs W S Tomlinson and Nina will leave in the morning for Ohio on a months visit Frank Matchett the janitor of the machine shop has resigned and has gone to farm work Roy Rogers was laid off a few days on account of having a wheel fall on one of his pedal extremities The ten hour shift was resumed by the company August 1st after about a month of nine hour service Engineer L S Viersen and family got away close of last week for California to be absent a month or so visiting on the Pacific coast The company is putting up a new smoke stack on the steam plant this week Also the middle bolier is being given a new set of flues Emerson Hanson arrived home Wed nesday night from a flying but delight ful trip to Salt Lake City Utah Mrs Hanson is still briefly visiting in Denver Rodburn Simmons accompanied his father down to Omaha Thursday morn ing on No 2 to have an operation per formed on his neck upon which there has been a growth for some time which has become a great
