Engines 1756 and 1932 are here for ex
tensive repairs The first was disabled
in a collision in Denver and the latter at
Brush Night gang was put at work on
them last night
What with rain and sleet snow wind
and blizzard lack of coal motive power
and cars and a rush of business the
McCook division has been up against
it proper this week
Gossip among railroad men about di
viding the Lincoln division of the Bur
lington and making a Lincoln and Oma
ha division of the line was hoard in
many quarters yesterday It is said the
company will place Fred D Weiden
hamer recently superintendent of the
Sheridan division in charge at Omaha
with Claude Grisinger formerly night
dispatcher here and recently chief dis
patcher at Sheridan in charge as chief
dispatcher It is further reported that
Lew Lyman who has also been employed
on the Sheridan division until recently
will be made trainmaster of the Omaha
division The impression prevails that
this division will be made up of the
lines of the road east of Lincoln al
though no announcements have yet been
made Mondays Lincoln Journal

Engine 148 came out of the backshop

Oporator J P Murray is taking a
months vacation visiting relatives
FloydCurran has returned to McCook
and gone to work in the freight house
Eoswell Cutler is acting assistant
night chief dispatcher for a tew nights
Mr Dainty of Culbertson and Mr
Brown of Grand Island are new recruits
in the telegraph office
Six engines were smashed up on the
west end within a weok or so and just
when power is so badly needed
The old burnt part of the freight de
pot has been removed and the work of
building the new depot will shortly com
mence shortly
Perry Pross master mechanics chief
clerk will on November first become
chief clerk to the superintendent of the
Alliance division and will remove to the
Box Butte capital
