Democrats and Populists Fuse
The conventions of the Democratic
and Populist parties in this city Tues
day resulted in a fusion of the two
parties on the nomination for stato
senator for the 29th district of Nebraska
and the nomination of Israel A Sheri
dan of Indianola Red Willow county
as o standard bearer
The conventions were both poorly at
tended not half of the counties of the
district being represented but there
was enough present to make a nucleus
for a pretty bit of jockeying between
the two conventions before a conclusion
was reached
The nominee is well known in this
county which he represented in the
lower house of the state legislature in
the early days of the Populist supremacy
in Nebraska He has been and is re
garded aB a Populist

of the Democratic canvention and
Charles E Reed of Arapahoe secretary

Some years since the Southwestern
Nebraska Industrial association came
into being in this city and a small sum
of money was raised for expenses etc of
the association Of this money most
has been disbursed as tho occasion arose
leaving a small balance in the hands
of the treasurer I H Wasson Recent

son were called together and the matter
of converting this balance to the aid and
support of the McCook Driving Park
association was successfully and satis
factorily adjusted To mako the sum

negotiate this matter was held at J E
Kelleys office September 15th at 3
oclock As it is the hope to convert
the park association into a fair associa
tion eventually the people will come in
to a full participation in the money thus
converted to the park

Adjudged Insane And Taken To Lincoln
Anna the 16-year-old daughter of
Sherman T Williams who lives between
here and Danbury was adjudged insane
before the insanity board in this city
Tuesday and was the same night taken
to Lincoln by Sheriff Peterson and
Matron Raine to be placed in the state
asylum at the capital
At the same time the sheriff took
Ward W Quigley to the state peniten
tiary

noble lady
