Frontier county was nominated for state senator on the first formal ballot by a vote of 22 to 18 C B Gray of McCook was chairman and Fred Flansburg of Trenton secre tary of the convention The first ballot taken was an informal one Counties Hill Wilsey Chase 3 Dundy v 3 Gosper 3 Hitohcock 5 Frontier 7 Furnas 9 Hayes 3 Red Willow 7 18 22 The first formal ballot was just like it Mr Wilsey made a king of Naples had among Its features a so called English garden made In 17S2 by order of Marie Caroline of Austria It was bright with flowers and wonderful rare oriental plants and trees so that it
