Conductor W A Cassell had the pay
car over this division Sunday and Mon
day Ho will now run on tho Oxford
Red Cloud line L L Cassell who has
been with the pile driver up west will
also run on that line
SuptEaton came up from Lincoln last
week and is directing divisional affairs
from his private car in which he makes
his headquarters until bis mashed foot
so far recovers as to enable him to use it
in the regular course of business
Conductor L A Hurlburt has re
tired from the railroad service with the
companys consent for his connection
with that Akron coal chute affair He
will remain in this section of the coun
try until after the J C Ferguson estate
case against the company comes to trial
and may decide to make his permanent
home here where he has lived so many
years

fairly well patronized A worthy pro

Frank Carruth is in the city for a
few days He is on his way home from
a visit to Plattsmouth He is slowly
recovering from his stroko of paralysis
sustained last September
Martin Thorurijison has gone to
Seattle Mrs T and two children will
spend tho summer in Adrian Mich
going from there to Seattle Louis and
Miss Clara are still here Miss Clara
will leave for Colorado Springs next
week to isit her sister
Mrs P E Potter whoso hearing
suddenly left her last Sunday morning
was taken to Denver Monday night for
expert treatment So far no hope is
held out for her regaining her nearing
Mrs Potter has keenest sympathy of
many friends in her affliction

west in general Jim Jenkins now of
Kansas is now 65 years old and has
spent forty years as a scout and hunt
er of bandits and train robbers In this
way he has made about 50000 Among
the distinguished outlaws he has
chased were Jesse James and his broth
er Bob Ford Bill Dalton and Bill
Cook while he was the leader of the
band that caught Cherokee Bill in 1S95
In the Dalton raid in Coffeyville Kas
Jenkins was shot eight times He esti
mates his bag of bad men at about 150

James I Lee returned Monday night
from Sterling Colo where ho had been
visiting a few days with his people He
reports that section of tho country on a
boom
Albert Ebert buried his baby Mon
day of this week The little one was a
little over five months old and erysipelas
is said ro have beeu cause of death
They have much sympathy
Pearl daughter of Mr and Mrs Albeit
Ebert who live ten miles south east of
McCook died on last Saturday evening
April 14th of erysipelas Services were
held in the Adventist church Monday
afternoon at two oclock Rev C
Hornbacker officiating B urial followed
in Riverview cemetery Pearl was born
October 23 05 They have tender
sympathy of many neighbors and friends
